Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello on Thursday lifted the work stoppage order (WSO) on 48 establishments engaged in the manufacture and sale of pyrotechnics and firecrackers in Bulacan after they were found compliant with general labor and occupational safety and health standards.

“The 48 establishments were compliant with labor and OSH standards and other pertinent laws, rules and regulations,” Bello said during the labor department’s 83rd founding anniversary.

The 48 establishments were part of the 88 firms engaged in the manufacture and sale of pyrotechnics and firecrackers in Bulacan that were inspected by the Department of Labor and Employment regional office.

Bello said there were still 40 establishments whose WSOs had not been lifted and were undergoing assessment. CDG/rga
