Cabinet Secretary Leoncio “Jun” Evasco Jr. allayed fears that the order for Robredo “to desist from attending all Cabinet meetings” was part of the plot to steal the vice presidency from her.

In an interview with dzMM on Sunday, Evasco said the order had nothing to do with former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., who lost to Robredo in the May 9 elections.

“Wala namang sinabi si Presidente na ang hindi pagdalo ni Vice President Leni sa Cabinet meeting something to do with Bongbong Marcos,” Evasco said.

(“The President didn’t say that Vice President Leni’s not attending Cabinet meetings had anything to do with Bongbong Marcos.”)

“Nothing. There was no mention of that,” he said.

Despite resigning as the housing czar, Robredo vowed to protect her office while continuing to support the “positive initiatives of the administration.”
