Bishop: Bring family to church, not malls

/ 12:40 AM December 04, 2016

Less malling, more time praying.

Or so Balanga Bishop Ruperto Santos reminded overseas Filipino workers coming home for the holidays, advice that might not go down too well with families who increasingly consider malls as a second home and favorite hangout.

“Bring your families to the church, not always at the malls … As you are here, be always available to your children, speak to them and share meals and stories,” the prelate said, summing up his suggestions as the 3 “S’s”: Spend more time together, share stories, and save money.

“We would like to advise our countrymen to spend more time with their families, rather than shopping … Save money and spend wisely,” said Bishop Santos.
