No truth to bar exam leakage, says SC

The Supreme Court on Thursday denied rumors that it is considering cancelling the bar examination following reports circulating on social media that there was a leakage in the 2016 bar examination questions.
Associate Justice Presbitero Velasco Jr., chairperson of the 2016 bar examination, also assured the candidates that examinations in commercial and criminal laws will not be re-administered.
“There is no iota of truth to these statements. These unfounded reports that are being irresponsibly circulated in social media only undermine the efforts of the Bar Chairperson to safeguard the confidentiality and integrity of the Bar exams,” Velasco said in a statement.
The Office of the Bar Chairperson immediately conducted an investigation on the reported leaked questions.
“The findings show that there is no truth to any of these unsubstantiated social media rumors.”
“He (Justice Velasco) requests the help of the public not to add more stress and anxiety to the examinees,” high court Public Information Chief Atty. Theodore Te said at a press conference.
In the ongoing 2016 bar examination, there are 6,831 candidates. Of these, only 3,317 are new candidates. RAM/rga
