Dayan on ‘L’affaire’ De Lima: We had a relationship for 7 years

Ronnie Dayan, former aide of Senator Leila de Lima, has finally admitted that he had a relationship with the then Justice Secretary for seven years.

“Totoo po. May relasyon po kami. (True. We had a relationship.)Seven years,” Dayan said when he was presented to the media at the Philippine National Police (PNP) headquarters after his arrest in La Union on Tuesday.

De Lima recently confirmed having been in a relationship with his former driver.

Dayan said they separated in 2014 but added that the last time he communicated with De Lima was after the elections last May.

“After election ‘yon na ’yon. Nagpasalamat lang siya (De Lima),” he said.

President Duterte himself accused Dayan of collecting money for De Lima from the drug lords in the New Bilibid Prisons (NBP) to fund her senatorial campaign.

Asked whether Duterte’s claims were true, Dayan remained mum, saying he would tell all in the Congress hearing.

“Wala akong masasabi. Hindi pa ako handang sumagot sa mga ganyan (I have nothing to say. I am not yet ready to answer those kind of questions),” he said.
