2 senators on Kerwin Espinosa’s drug list—Sandra Cam
At least two senators—one allegedly received a total of P5.7 million—were dragged into the illegal drug trade by suspected drug lord Kerwin Espinosa, whistleblower Sandra Cam said on Monday.
Cam, president of the Whistleblowers Association of the Philippines, said Espinosa told her everything but she has no authority to identify the high-ranking government and police officials allegedly involved in drugs.
“Kahindik-hindik na hindi natin kakayaning tingnan ang mga pangalang pinangalanan nya,” she said in a chance interview at the Senate.

Asked why it was shocking, Cam said because of the involvement of big personalities like senators, congressmen, governors, police generals, among others.
Asked again if more than one senator was named by Espinosa, the whistleblower initially answered: “I think so. Tingnan po natin.”

“Ang isang senador, sabi nya (Espinosa) dito na nya sasabihin dito sa imbestigasyon. May affidavit na sya yesterday so we’re just waiting,” Cam added.
She said it was Espinosa himself, who delivered the P1.7 million to the first senator in October 2015; P2 million in November 2015; and another P2 million in December 2015.
“As to the other (senator) ibang tao ang nag deliver sa kanya,” Cam said.
Cam said Espinosa’s testimony would also shed light on who killed his father Albuera, Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr.

The mayor was killed in a provincial jail last November 5 while a search warrant was being served against him by the police.
Senator Leila de Lima has been accused of receiving drug money when she was justice secretary but she repeatedly denied the allegation. RAM/rga
