Blindsided by the burial of former President Ferdinand Marcos at Libingan ng mga Bayani, militant groups, students and civil society organizations held protests in different parts of Metro Manila on Friday.
Bagong Alyansang Makabayan (Bayan) and its allied groups were already scheduled to hold noise barrages and protests in Monumento, Philcoa, Marikina, Alabang, E. Rodriguez, Taft Ave., Intramuros and Morayta.
Some went straight to Libingan ng mga Bayani while others have started massing near the People Power shrine on Edsa.
Indignation rallies will also be held this afternoon at the University of the Philippines and Katipunan, as well as España.
The police and the military revealed that Marcos would finally be buried at Libingan ng mga Bayani hours before the actual ceremony — a move criticized by lawmakers and critics of the Marcos family./rga
