Senator Leila de Lima’s admission of a previous romantic relationship with her former driver boosts the complaints filed against her, including her disbarment case, Justice Secretary Vitaliano Aguirre II said on Tuesday.
De Lima admitted on GMA News TV’s “Bawal ang Pasaway kay Mareng Winnie” her affair with Ronnie Dayan. Dayan and De Lima are facing several complaints before the Department of Justice (DOJ) for allegedly pocketing money from drug transactions inside the New Bilibid Prison (NBP).

Aguirre said he already instructed the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) to get a copy of the footage of the interview to be used as evidence.
“Definitely magagamit yan (it could be used) as evidence. As a matter of fact, I instructed the NBI to get a copy of the footage of that interview,” Aguirre told reporters.
De Lima’s admission proves that the allegations against her are not manufactured by the government. President Rodrigo Duterte was the first who revealed in a speech De Lima’s affair with Dayan.

Now, Aguirre said “she, herself, admitted of their relationship which she previously denied.”
He added that the probability that Dayan was collecting money from Bilibid became stronger.
“An ordinary driver cannot do that,” Aguirre said.
There are four separate complaints filed against De Lima and Dayan before the DOJ. RAM/rga
