MANILA — Resembling the Halloween massacre in Mandaluyong City, four people who were allegedly sniffing shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) in Marikina City inside a house were killed on Sunday evening by three unidentified gunmen onboard motorbikes.
Senior Superintendent Lorenzo Holanday, Jr., Marikina police chief, identified the victims as Rodel Aguilar, 41, a resident at the corner of Erana J Manalo and Aquilina Streets, Sto. Niño, Marikina City; a certain Danilo, 48, of Penguin St, Park 6, Malanday; Jesus Martin, around 45 to 50 years old, of Shoe Avenue, Sto Niño; and a still unidentified victim who witnesses said was a fishball vendor.
Of the four, only Martin, the owner of the house according to reports from neighbors, was on the drug watch list, Holanday said. Martin did not surrender to the police, he added .
Probers said the killers were three unidentified men onboard two motorcycles.
Recovered from the crime scene were eight fired empty cartridge casings or shells of from a firearm of unknown caliber and a heat-sealed transparent plastic sachet containing crystalline substance suspected to be shabu and aluminum foil, the report said.
An investigation is still ongoing.
Meanwhile in Pasig City, a “notorious” drug pusher was killed in an encounter with the Pasig City Police station anti-illegal drugs unit following a buy-bust operation early Monday.
According to the report reaching Senior Superintendent Orlando Yebra, Jr., the Pasig City police chief, Cesar Guanzon, a resident of Phase 2, Villa Monique, Barangay Pinagbuhatan, was shot dead near Tuazon creek located along Eusebio Avenue, Barangay San Miguel.
Yebra said the victim was dealing with poseur buyer PO2 Randy Sanoy around 2:25 am. However, Guanzon sensing that Sanoy was an undercover policeman, went to his house, immediately pulled out a handgun and fired at him. The police retaliated, hitting him in the neck, the report said.
Guanzon died upon the arrival of the Pasig City Rescue Unit.
