DID YOU KNOW? Malaria Awareness Month

November was declared Malaria Awareness Month by virtue of Proclamation No. 1168 signed on Nov. 10, 2006, by then President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo. The lead agency in the implementation of the antimalaria campaign is the Department of Health, in cooperation with the interior, education, defense and tourism departments, among other government agencies.  —MARIELLE MEDINA, INQUIRER RESEARCH
