Former Cebu mayor indicted

Ombudsman Conchita Carpio Morales has ordered the filing of criminal charges against a former Cebu mayor for appointing an officer in charge for the city college without its board’s consent.

Former Talisay City Mayor Johnny de los Reyes faces a possible court case for falsification allegedly for the unlawful issuance of an executive order that named Dr. Paulus Mariae Cañete as the OIC of Talisay City College (TCC).

At the time, De los Reyes also chaired the TCC’s board of trustees.
