Rape suspect dies in shootout with police

An alleged rapist was killed in a shootout with policemen in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, Tuesday night.

Investigators said Roger (name changed to protect victim) was accused of raping his daughter who is a minor.

A report submitted to Quezon City police chief, Senior Supt. Guillermo Lorenzo Eleazar, said the victim and her mother went to the Batasan police station on Tuesday, claiming Roger had been molesting the young girl for the past four years.

When the police tried to arrest Roger, he opened fire on them, leading to a shootout. Recovered from him were a sachet of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride), two bolos and a .38-cal. pistol.
