Gov’t fast-tracking ‘Yolanda’ fund distribution — Palace

MALACAÑANG said new guidelines are being drawn up to fast-track the distribution of shelter assistance to Yolanda survivors, as it commemorated the third anniversary of the super typhoon’s deadly onslaught.

The President’s spokesperson Ernesto Abella said the concerned department was coming up with the guidelines to facilitate the speedy delivery of aid.

Many of the Yolanda survivors are still without permanent homes.

Abella also paid tribute to those who lived through the super typhoon and those who came to help.

“Yolanda brought misery and grief to our people, but it has likewise provided us with many lessons in our pre- and post-disaster response,” he said it.

“We celebrate the triumph of the human spirit, the human community, the Filipino people and the survivors and all those who stood with us, all the nations who helped us get back on our feet, the agencies, the organizations, and all who pitched in,” he said in a press briefing.

He also said there were a lot of lessons to be learned from Yolanda.

“Yolanda brought misery and grief to our people, but it has likewise provided us with many lessons in our pre- and post-disaster response,” he said it.
