Couple on drug watchlist killed
A couple believed to be engaged in the illegal drug trade were shot dead by four still unidentified gunmen who barged into their house in Pateros before dawn on Monday.
The Southern Police District (SPD) identified the victims as 54-year-old Romeo Rondolo and wife Nelia, 53. They were asleep inside their house on MR Flores Street, Barangay Sto. Rosario-Kanluran, when they were shot by four men wearing bonnets around 2 a.m.
Rondolo died on the spot from multiple gunshot wounds. The Pateros rescue team brought Nelia to the Rizal Medical Center where she was declared dead on arrival.
According to the police, the couple were known to be drug pushers operating in Pateros. They were also on the police drug watchlist.
Pateros police chief Supt. Joel Villanueva said that the couple’s house served as a venue for drug sessions.
In Las Piñas City, a Nigerian national and his wife were arrested in an entrapment operation carried out by the SPD on Sunday.
Article continues after this advertisementPolicemen identified the pair as Didicus Ohaeri, 34, and Elenita Ohaeri, 49, who were apprehended at the Udelo Restaurant on Km. 17 Alabang-Zapote Road at 4:30 a.m.

The SPD Anti-Illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group said three sachets of suspected “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were recovered from the couple along with P10,000 in cash. A notebook containing names with corresponding amounts and bank accounts was also found, believed to be a record of the suspects’ drug transactions.
Police also confiscated the car used by the couple who would be charged with possessing and selling illegal drugs.
In Muntinlupa City, four other people were also arrested for selling shabu to an undercover policeman.
Raymond Pimentel, 36; Rozenie Alfar, 31; Ronalyn Alfar, 28; and Angelica Aban, 28, were taken into custody after the drug transaction inside their house at Vivo Compound in Purok 6, Barangay Bayanan.
Recovered from them were four sachets of what was believed to be shabu. The suspects now face charges of possession and sale of illegal drugs.
