MANILA — A member of the Pasay City Anti-Smoke Belching Unit (ASBU) who was linked to extortion activities along Roxas Boulevard was gunned down on Thursday morning.

Ramil Co, 46, assistant team leader of ASBU Pasay and resident of Estrella Street, Barangay 14, was shot dead by a motorcycle back rider along Roxas Boulevard at 11:30 a.m., police said.

Co and his subordinates were at work when two men on a motorcycle arrived. The back rider alighted and shot Co multiple times.

A police report stated that a bystander, who requested anonymity, said Co was involved in a series of robbery-extortion activities along Roxas Boulevard.  SFM/rga
