MANILA, Philippines – Senator Teofisto Gungona III said the death of his nephew this Thursday morning may have been brought about by personal concerns.
“Our family is in deep sorrow following the untimely passing away of my nephew, Marc Guingona, early this morning,” Guingona said in a statement.
“I was informed that his death may have been brought about by personal concerns,” he said.
“We understand that Marc is young and may have been unable to bear burden of such concerns. The intensity of his pain is known only to him,” the senator added.
Guingona then appealed to the public that the family would be allowed “to mourn, go through and process the pain of this tragic experience in private.”
“We also hope that Marc would be allowed his own privacy in his last moments,” he said.
Marc Guingona Lamb fell to his death from a hotel in Muntinlupa City. His mother, Marie, is the sister of the senator.
