Pepito enters PAR, may become a typhoon

Severe Tropical Storm Pepito (international name: Man-yi) entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday night, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

MANILA, Philippines — Severe Tropical Storm Pepito (international name: Man-yi) entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Thursday night, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said Pepito developed into a severe tropical storm and entered PAR at 8:00 p.m.

The last location of Pepito was 1,375 kilometers east of Northeastern Mindanao.

Pagasa said Pepito may become a typhoon by Friday morning.

Pepito may make landfall over the eastern coast of Southern Luzon over the weekend.
