A 33-YEAR OLD Polish tourist had been missing for a week since going to a beach in barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City.
Police said Piotr Andrej Chabros of Warsaw, Poland, was last seen at the Tambuli Beach Resort last Oct. 20, also the day he arrived in Cebu.
Eva Marie Daño of Easy Travel Agency said Chabros arrived at 5:30 p.m. on a direct flight from Doha, Qatar.
He went to the beach resort with a Polish couple and a Russian.
Beata Kahlita, Chabros friend, said the foreigner had been telling him that somebody was out to kill him.
Kahlita said they were having a drinking session at the resort when Chabros went to the sea.
Kahlita said Chabros went to the deep portion of the sea and asked him to return to the shoreline.
Kahlita said he sought help from beach personnel but Chabros was nowhere to be found.
Chabros left his wallet containing $10,000, his mobile phone and a pair of shoes at the shoreline.
Kahlita said it was unlikely that Chabros drowned as he is a scuba diver.
The hotel management reported Chabros’ disappearance to the police and the Philippine Coast Guard. /CORRESPONDENT NORMAN V. MENDOZA
