Manila North Cemetery visitors go beyond 500,000

More than 500,000 have already trooped to the Manila North Cemetery (MNC) to pay respects to their deceased loved ones, based on information from the Manila Police District (MPD).

The number of visitors to the MNC more than doubled  compared to Monday, Oct. 31 when 250,000 visited the area as of 5 in the afternoon.

Authorities have confiscated 115 gardening tools, 23 flammable materials and 11 deadly weapons.

No untoward incident has been reported except for an elderly woman given assistance after suffering a headache.

A fire also broke out inside the MNC. The fire, according to the Manila Fire District Office, started around 10:15 a.m. but was declared out around 10:26 a.m.
