Five people were killed in separate shooting incidents in Caloocan and Quezon City on Wednesday morning, Radyo Inquirer 990AM reported.

Crispen Santos, 31, and Daniel Padilla, 20, were found dead in Barangay (village) 160, Baesa, Caloocan City after a shootout with unidentified men.

Nimfa Barbosa, head of the women’s and children’s desk of the local police, said witnesses saw the two playing the illegal gambling game “cara y cruz” before the incident, which happened around 4 a.m.

Radyo Inquirer 990AM’s Ricky Brozas reported that illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia were retrieved by the police from the crime scene.

Barbosa said they have yet to identify the suspects but a witness, who refused to be named, said he thinks they were policemen in plain clothes. He could not identify the men or show proof of his accusation.

The witness, who was outside his house when the gunfight happened, said the six armed men ordered Santos and Padilla to approach them. They started shooting when the two refused to follow their order. He said Santos and Padilla shot back.

The two tried to surrender at one point but the perpetrators continued shooting at them.

Minor, former partner found dead in QC

Meanwhile, Jericho Camitan, 21, was found dead along Gumamela St., Brgy. Commonwealth, Quezon City with a cardboard sign bearing the words “Tulak ka, hayop ka (You are a drug pusher, you are an animal).”

Lying beside him was the body of Erica Fernandez, 17, his former live-in partner.

Radyo Inquirer 990AM’s Jong Manlapaz said witnesses saw the two walking along the street and seemed to have been arguing.

He said police are looking at another angle since Fernandez already had another partner.

Fernandez’s mother said her daughter was probably accidentally killed since she had nothing to do with illegal drugs. No one could confirm either if Camitan was using or selling drugs since he was not from the neighborhood.

Brother of shooting victim killed in Makati

Petronyo Rosales Jr. had just left a bar in Makati when he was shot by assassins riding a motorcycle.

He was killed on the spot while his companion was left unharmed.

The radio report said Rosales was only visiting from London to pursue the case of his sister, Lauren Kristel Rosales, who was shot dead in July while onboard a jeepney in Makati.

The police are investigating if the two killings are related. KS
