Police raid fails to find De Lima driver
LINGAYEN, PANGASINAN—The police swooped down on six houses in Urbiztondo town on Tuesday, hoping to catch Ronnie Dayan, former driver of Sen. Leila de Lima.
But Senior Supt. Ronald Lee, Pangasinan police director, said the raiding team did not find Dayan in any of the houses in Barangay Galarin in Urbiztondo.
The team searched a white house owned by Elmita Torreta, Dayan’s sister, and an orange house owned by him.
It also searched the houses of William Licuanan, Rodrigo Palisoc, Frankie Palisoc and Wilfredo Palisoc. Dayan’s middle name is Palisoc.
“We have been receiving reports that Dayan was hiding in those houses. We will continue our search,” Lee said.
The House committee on justice had ordered Dayan arrested for ignoring summons to the inquiry into alleged drug trafficking inside the New Bilibid Prison.—GABRIEL CARDINOZA
