Fire razes at least 36 Cebu homes

CEBU CITY–An unattended lighted lamp triggered a fire that hit an urban poor village in Cebu City early Tuesday which affected 43 houses.

At least 36 houses were burned down while seven others were damaged by the fire that broke out at 4:20 a.m. in Barangay Suba, Cebu City.

The blaze was put under control at 5:10 a.m.

Senior Fire Investigator 1 Edwin Andayan said the fire was caused by a lighted lamp that fell inside the house of Edwin Bacalso.
