Cebu Pacific Air (CEB) has warned passengers against using tickets booked under different names and presenting falsified identification cards (IDs) and documents to supplement them.
The Gokongwei-owned budget carrier recently caught several passengers who presented phony IDs handed down by unauthorized travel agencies who sold them confirmed flight itineraries booked by different persons.
The airline said in a statement published on Saturday: “CEB has demanded travel agencies involved to cease and desist from engaging in these unlawful acts as soon as possible. CEB has also reported to the Philippine National Police (PNP) passengers who presented fake IDs in an attempt to use tickets booked in the name of other guests.”
Also, CEB reminded passengers and travel agencies that engage in spurious transactions such as this that they might be sued for civil and criminal actions under Philippine laws and could face imprisonment for up to 20 years. It encouraged customers to book their tickets on the official CEB website, Cebu Pacific Mobile App, reservation hotlines, and legitimate travel agencies. Gianna Francesca Catolico
