Manila traffic rerouting scheme on Oct. 31, Nov. 1

MANILA, Philippines – The Manila Police District-Traffic Enforcement Unit (MPD-TEU) released Tuesday its re-routing scheme for October 31 and November 1, All Saints’ Day.

Aurora Boulevard (from Dimasalang to Rizal Avenue); Blumentritt (from A. Bonifacio to P. Guevarra); Dimasalang (from Makiling to Blumentritt); Retiro (from Dimasalang to Blumentritt Extension); P. Guevarra (from Cavite to Pampanga); and Leonor Rivera (from Cavite to Aurora Boulevard) will all be closed from 6 a.m. of October 31 until midnight of November 1, according to a copy of the scheme.

The designated parking areas for those going to the Manila North Cemetery will be on Craig, Simon, F. Huertas, Sulu, Oroqueta, and Metrica Streets.

Public Utility Jeepneys (PUJ) coming from Rizal Avenue /Blumentritt will take Cavite St. then turn right to Bonifacio St. to point of destination. Those coming from Amoranto St. in Quezon City should make a right turn to Calavite and Bonifacio to point of destination.

PUJs from Dimasalang St. should turn right to Makiling and Maceda to point of destination.

Parking on both sides of Retiro from Blumentritt to Laon Laan, Dimasalang from the gate of North Cemetery to Makiling, Dos Castillas, Don Quijote and Maria Clara will not be allowed as these areas have been declared tow-away zones.

Jeepneys bound for La Loma and the Chinese cemeteries from España should take AH Lacson, Tayuman, Blumentritt from Cavite to Aurora Boulevard and take either Rizal Avenue of JA Santos.

Vehicles coming from Quiapo, Sta. Cruz, Tondo, and Caloocan can either take JA Santos or Rizal Avenue Extension.

Parking will not be allowed in Pampanga St., Rizal Avenue, JA Santos and Aurora St., which have also been declared tow-away zones.

Vehicles will be made to park on Oroquieta, F. Huertas, P. Guevarra, Bulacan, Tecson, Sulu, M. Hizon, Kalimabas, and Natividad St, and other streets not included in the re-routing scheme.

Meanwhile, the District Unit of MPD-TEU will also be deploying personnel along P. Ocampo Extension to help motorists going to the South Cemetery.
