The Philippine National Police (PNP) is urging witnesses who were able to take videos of the violent dispersal of protesters in front of the American Embassy to share their copies with the police as it investigates the bloody Wednesday incident.
“We still have to gather evidence, especially video footages so we can see all angles. Right now, we are encouraging witnesses, those holding different video footages, (to share them with the PNP),” Police Director Benjamin Magalong, PNP deputy chief for operations, said in a press conference on Thursday.

The PNP leadership tapped the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) to investigate the militants’ anti-US rally along Roxas Boulevard in Manila that turned violent, leaving 35 policemen and 22 protesters injured.
CIDG’s deputy director Senior Supt. Eliseo Rasco is leading the investigating team composed of CIDG-National Capital Region members.
Magalong said investigators also asked footages from the US Embassy so they could come up with “very, very objective” results of the investigation.
