At 12:00 p.m. Thursday, well-wishers camping around the monument of King Bhumibol Adulyadej’s father, Prince Mahidol of Songkhla, in Siriraj Hospital compound chanted prayers asking for an improvement in His Majesty the King’s health.

Despite rain in the morning, they continued their open-air vigil. Many people are also flocking to the hospital during their lunch breaks to send the 88-year-old-monarch moral support.

With the schools closed for the mid-year break, parents are bringing their children to pay respect to the King. Groups of university students have also gathered at the hospital, worried about the King’s condition after learning about it on social media.
