Albay village chief killed in drug bust
DARAGA, Albay — A barangay (village) chairman in this town died in a drug bust in the village of Inarado on Tuesday, police said.
Chief Insp. Arthur Gomez, Albay provincial police spokesperson, said Rommel Marticio, village chief of Inarado, drew a gun during a buy-bust operation in front of his house at Purok 1 in Inarado at 4 p.m., prompting policemen to shoot him.

Gomez said Marticio was considered a “high-value target” on the local police’s drug watch list.
Police recovered an undetermined amount of “shabu” (methamphetamine hydrochloride) and a .38 cal. gun from the slain suspect. SFM
