DAGUPAN CITY — A village chief of Urdaneta City and his driver were shot dead in broad daylight while traveling from the city on Thursday (Oct. 6).

A woman was also killed by the fatalities’ wayward vehicle.

Both men were immediately taken to a hospital but doctors there declared them dead on arrival.

Police said the SUV swerved to the left side of the road after the initial volley of gunfire, crashing into a makeshift store, where 74-year-old Consuelo Ramirez and her 27-year-old son Moises where sitting.

Consuelo did not reach the hospital alive.
