Three killed in Pangasinan attack

DAGUPAN CITY — A village chief of Urdaneta City and his driver were shot dead in broad daylight while traveling from the city on Thursday (Oct. 6).

A woman was also killed by the fatalities’ wayward vehicle.

Bartolome Andrada, barangay captain of Pinmaludpod village, and his driver Johnny Barlon, were in a sport utility vehicle (SUV) when one of two men on a motorcycle fired at them at 11:35 a.m. as they drove through the village.

Both men were immediately taken to a hospital but doctors there declared them dead on arrival.

Police said the SUV swerved to the left side of the road after the initial volley of gunfire, crashing into a makeshift store, where 74-year-old Consuelo Ramirez and her 27-year-old son Moises where sitting.

Consuelo did not reach the hospital alive.

Bartolome was listed as a drug suspect in the city, police said.
