Typhoon “Igme” (international name: Chaba) has left the Philippine Area of Responsibility, the state weather bureau said.
As of 3 p.m. on Monday, Igme was located 725 kilometers northeast of Basco, Batanes, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said.
The typhoon was heading towards Japan.
Igme will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains within its 600-kilometer diameter.
It packed maximum sustained winds of up to 175 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center and gusts of up to 20 kph, Pagasa said. RAM/rga
