The Makati City government is set to open electronic payment centers in the barangays starting Tuesday for residents who need to pay their real property taxes.
“Real property owners need not go to City Hall anymore to pay their taxes. Authorized tellers from the City Treasurer’s Office will be deployed to barangay halls to accept payments using the computerized tax payment system from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on designated dates,” Mayor Abby Binay said in a statement.
The mobile service will be available to 31 of the 33 barangays of Makati, excluding Post Proper Northside and Southside in Fort Bonifacio which are the subject of a jurisdictional dispute with Taguig City.
Binay said taxpayers could avail themselves of the service in any of the 31 payment centers.
For the first district, the satellite payment service is scheduled for Oct. 4 in Bel-Air and Urdaneta; Oct. 5 in Forbes Park and Dasmariñas; Oct. 6 in Magallanes and San Lorenzo; Oct. 7 in Bangkal, Pio del Pilar, San Isidro, Palanan and San Antonio.
It will also be available in barangays La Paz, Sta. Cruz, Singkamas, Tejeros and Kasilawan on Oct. 11, and in Carmona, Olympia, Valenzuela and Poblacion on Oct. 12.
In District 2, realty tax may also be paid at the barangay hall of Guadalupe Viejo on Oct. 12, followed by Guadalupe Nuevo, Pinagkaisahan, Pitogo, Cembo and South Cembo on Oct. 13, and West Rembo, East Rembo, Comembo, Pembo and Rizal on Oct. 14.
Binay said taxpayers only need to present their previous receipt when making the payment. Each transaction takes four minutes at most and an electronic receipt will be issued after.
Real property owners may pay their tax dues for the fourth quarter at the City Treasurer’s Office until Oct. 20.
