Cebu police chief relieved
CEBU CITY–Governor Hilario Davide III announced the relief of Senior Supt. Jose Macanas as Cebu Provincial Police Office (CCPO) acting director.
He told a news conference on Friday that Macanas’ transfer took effect today, Sept. 30.
Davide admitted that he was surprised when he was informed by Chief Supt. Noli Taliño, police director for Central Visayas, when the latter went to his office on Friday morning.
“I was so surprised. He (Macanas) was doing well (in CCPO),” he said.
Macanas served as acting director of CCPO about 3 months. CDG/rga
