ANGELES CITY, Pampanga, Philippines—The police seized 32 bricks of marijuana worth P480,000 at a checkpoint set up in Barangay (village) Sto. Cristo along the MacArthur Highways here on Thursday night (Sept. 29).
Weighing 28 kilograms, the bricks were discovered in a tricycle driven by Michael Benjie Moya, 26, according to Supt. Sydney Villaflor, the city’s police chief.
A brick sells for P15,000 in the local market, he said.
Villaflor said Moya ferries passengers from the Dau bus terminal in nearby Mabalacat City where he resides.
His passenger, however, jumped off the tricycle and fled when policemen ordered Moya to slow down.
There is no information on the source of marijuana. Moya has been charged for possessing marijuana.
