LUCENA CITY – Another headless body was found in Mulanay town in Quezon province on Thursday afternoon, police said Friday.
In a phone interview, Senior Insp. Bonna Abuyan-Obmerga, Mulanay police chief, said the decomposing cadaver was kept inside a burned sack left under Maralahay bridge in Barangay (village) Cambuga. The head of the cadaver was missing. The cadaver was brought to a funeral parlor in Lucena for autopsy and possible identification.
Obmerga said that the body was also burned just like the condition of the three heads and lower limb found in different parts of the same village on Monday. The heads bore bullet wounds.
On Tuesday, two headless and burned bodies were also found in a steel drum in Barangay San Vicente, General Luna town.

The three mutilated bodies were identified as that of Gilbert Alvarez, Joel de la Torre and Augosto Leron, three of the four reported missing men from Calauag town. Police believe the recently recovered body might belong to Gerald Alvarez. who was also reported missing.
The relatives of the victims, citing information after the autopsy, said the heads were not chopped but got separated from their bodies after they were burned.
The Calauag police said the four men were on a drug watch list that was updated last month. CDG/rga
