Cigarette vendor now smokin’ rich

The man was wearing slippers when he went home richer by P62 million.

A 52-year-old cigarette vendor from Parañaque City won the jackpot in the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw on Sept. 14, according to the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO).

The lucky bettor spent a mere P40 for the ticket that picked the winning combination 8-9-16-19-31-41, which he said were based on his mobile phone numbers.

PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan said the vendor arrived in slippers and a T-shirt when he claimed his P61,337,184 prize on Monday at the PCSO in Mandaluyong City.

His immediate plan is to buy a house and lot for his wife and their lone child, and start a business, Balutan said.
