MANILA — The man was wearing slippers when he went home with P62 million last Monday.

A 52-year-old cigarette vendor from Parañaque City won the P61.3 million jackpot in the Grand Lotto 6/55 draw last Sept 14.

That day, he placed a P40 bet.

His winning numbers 08-09-16-19-31-41 were a combination of his cell phone numbers.

Claiming his P61,337,184 prize at the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office in Mandaluyong City, from PCSO General Manager Alexander Balutan, the lone winner in his slippers and t-shirt said he has been betting for two years now, anticipating the possibility of good life for his wife and only child.

The winner also told Balutan he would buy a house and lot, invest in a business and save the rest for his child’s future.  SFM/rga
