Sharks escape Dragons

THE ACCENTURE Sharks went through the wringer to survive a second sudden-death match, barely escaping the hard-fighting Supportsave Dragons, 76-74, to advance to the quarterfinal round of the 2011 Powerade E-League for Basketball at the City Sports Club-Cebu Gym, yesterday.

The narrow win gave the Sharks the eighth and final sport in the quarters, where they will face an arduous task of beating the twice-to-beat number one seed Stream Blue Devils.

Accenture and Supportsave arranged the no-tomorrow showdown after they hacked out separate wins against fellow wildcard entries last Saturday. The Sharks dispatched the Xlibris Publishers, 73-69,  while the Dragons eliminated the JP Morgan Chase and Co. Bankers, 88-75./EDITORIAL ASSISTANT CALVIN D. CORDOVA
