FOLLOWING her arrest in a drug bust on Sunday evening, former sexy star Sabrina M. was cooperating with the police who wanted to identify the celebrities buying drugs from her.

“[Her arrest] should serve as an eye opener to everybody that our campaign against illegal drugs is regardless of [one’s] social status in life,” Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar, Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director, said in a press conference on Monday.

He told reporters that they were now determining how long Sabrina M.—known in real life as Karen Salas Palasigui—had been selling drugs and who her suppliers and clients were.

According to him, the former starlet has been “cooperative” in providing them information on her celebrity clients.

Eleazar said that with Palasigui’s arrest, they were hopeful that celebrities involved in the narcotics trade would come forward and cooperate with the government.

Palasigui was arrested with two men inside her house in Quezon City at 11:45 p.m. on Sunday, making her the first celebrity to be busted by the QCPD in the President’s ongoing war on drugs.

Just minutes before, Palasigui sold P6,000 worth of “shabu” or methamphetamine hydrochloride to a member of the QCPD’s anti-illegal drugs group. Her companions, Erwin Suba San Martin and Edwin Locsin Coloma, were caught having a pot session inside her house on Pulangui Street, Napocor Village in Barangay Pasong Tamo.

Eleazar said they had received intelligence reports that the former sexy star used and sold drugs. During the press briefing, he showed a video of Palasigui using drugs before the police operation.

Authorities recovered from the suspects several sachets of shabu and drug paraphernalia. They will be charged with conspiracy, possession and sale of illegal drugs.

Among the movies Palasigui made in the 1990s were “Masarap ang Unang Kagat” and “Favorite Subject: Sex Education.”
