THE QUEZON City police have recovered the car of Councilor Hero Bautista’s missing ex-girlfriend in the parking lot of a fast food outlet not far from her condominium unit.
Quezon City Police District (QCPD) director Senior Supt. Guillermo Eleazar on Friday said the Mercedes benz of Rio April Santos Choi, 33, was found on C5 Road corner Green Meadows Avenue after the establishment’s security guard alerted the police.
Crime scene investigators found drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle (PJW-727), Eleazar said.
Choi was reported missing by her mother on Sept. 14, two days after she was last seen leaving the condo in Eastwood City, Barangay Bagumbayan.
In mid-August, Councilor Bautista, brother of Quezon City Mayor Herbert Bautista, had taken a leave to undergo rehabilitation for illegal drug use. Choi has a 4-year-old son with the councilor.
Based on the security camera footage at the fast food outlet, Choi parked her car in the area at 8:43 p.m. on Sept. 12.
She was wearing a black dress and slippers, matching the description earlier given by her mother, who said her daughter was last seen stepping out of the condo building at 7:30 p.m.
The video showed Choi using her cell phone, walking around and seemingly waiting for someone. She then walked southward to C5 before going out of view.
The QCPD will look for other security videos in the area to determine what happened next, Eleazar said.
