PSG probes former De Lima aide’s alleged link to Bilibid drug trade
The Presidential Security Group (PSG) is investigating the alleged involvement of one of its members in the illegal drug trade at the New Bilibid Prison (NBP), its spokesman said on Wednesday.
Lt. Colonel Michael Aquino said the PSG has conducted an investigation on Sergeant Jonel Sanchez, a former security aide of Sen. Leila de Lima, who allegedly served as her bagman of the drug money for the senator.
“Upon hearing his implication on the House inquiry regarding Senator de Lima, the command immediately conducted an investigation effective 18 September 2016,” Aquino told reporters in Malacañang.
During the House inquiry on Tuesday, convicted robber Herbert Colanggo said Sanchez has delivered drug money to de Lima for her senatorial bid.

“The command cannot give further details as of this time since we do not want to pre-empt the investigation that is being undertaken by the House of the Representatives,” he said.
Aquino said the PSG command was willing to present Sanchez at the House inquiry if he would be invited.
“Yes, we will fully cooperate. Any investigation that will help for the investigation, we will cooperate,” he said.
“In unison with our people’s clamor for truth and justice, we requested for his full cooperation during the investigation,” he added. CDG
