Earthquake struck the provinces of Davao Occidental and Surigao del Sur on Sunday morning, according to state seismologists.

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said a 4.2 magnitude quake with tectonic origin hit Davao Occidental at 9:09 a.m.

The quake, which had a depth of 11 kilometers, was located 62 kilometers south of Sarangani, Davao Occidental.

A 3.9 magnitude quake also hit Surigao del Sur at 9:25 a.m., which had a depth of five kilometers.

The quake, which was tectonic in origin, was located 9 kilometers south of Carmen, Surigao del Sur.

Intensity II was felt in Surigao City. YG/rga
