5 establishments closed daily in Manila

/ 04:00 AM September 16, 2016

An average of five business establishments are issued closure orders in Manila every day due to a lack of or expired business permits, according to Fortune Mayuga, officer in charge of the city’s Bureau of Permits and Licensing Office.

“It’s because there’s a process for getting a new permit. After a given period and they don’t comply, there’s a closure order already,” Mayuga explained.

Mayuga made the pronouncement following the issuance of closure orders on three clothing stores located on Pedro Gil Avenue.

The owners of the establishments—which were not identified—presented expired business permits to city hall inspectors.
