Naiax opens next week
The government is set to open the first phase of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Expressway (Naiax) next week with toll fees waived for a month.
Transportation Secretary Arthur Tugade said a portion of the 7.6-kilometer elevated highway, which connects the Naia Terminals 1 and 2 to Macapagal Boulevard, would open on Sept. 22.
“Phase 1 will open this month, I think on the 22nd, and the entire freeway connection up to (Naia) Terminal 3 will all be open before the end of this year. So that before the end of this year, all the flyovers will be open,” Tugade said
Tugade also announced that motorists may use the flyovers for free for a month. The toll fee for Naiax’s first phase is pegged at P35 to P45, officials had earlier said.
