Kenyans dominate PNA’s N-Dash race
The Kenyan runners as expected, took the top podium spots in yesterday’s N-Dash (Nurses’ Driving Access for Society’s Health) Run of the Philippine Nurses Association (PNA) at the Terraces in Ayala Center Cebu.
The inaugural event, which was moved a day earlier due to conflict in schedule, drew almost a thousand runners with Kenyans Josphat Kiptanui and Abraham Missous ruling the 12k and 6k categories, respectively.
Kiptanui clocked 40 minutes and 49.54 seconds in the 12k event followed by fellow Kenyan Francis Kakui (42 mins. and 08.87 secs.) and Cebuano Mendel Lopez (46:39.41) in second and third respectively. Adonis Singson finished fourth (46:39.43).
Michelle Gilbuena took the women’s crown in 55 mins. and 15.82 seconds followed by Cristy Tutor (55:20.11) and Mary Jane Beboso (55:47.64).
Missous ruled the 6k race in 20 mins. and 11.47 seconds followed by University of Southern Philippines-Foundation’s (USP-F) ace runner Joel Delposo (21:20.41) and Jeffrey Codino (23:42.59).
Sisters Jhean and Lovely Fe Andrin took the top two spots in the women’s 6k with Jhean clocking 26:42.36 while Lovely Fe finished second in 26:43.51. Joeyry Lee of USPF and Lynlie Cardenas grabbed the third and fourth spots, respectively.
