3 killed, 43 hurt in Subic bus collision
SUBIC, Zambales—Three people died when a bus carrying 55 shipyard workers collided with another bus in Barangay (village) Cawag here on Tuesday morning, police said.
Ramil Valmocena, driver of the Angelica 888 Express Inc. bus; Roque Gallardo, driver of the Gallardo Trans bus; and Gallardo bus passenger, Eugene Bacal, a worker at Hanjin Heavy Industries and Construction-Philippines, were killed in the collision, said Chief Insp. Leonardo Madrid, commander of Subic police station.
The speeding Angelica 888 Express Inc. bus veered into the opposite lane and crashed into the approaching Gallardo Trans bus around 6 a.m., police said.
The three fatalities died from head and chest injuries while 43 other Hanjin workers were injured and brought to a nearby hospital, police said.
