New storm to enter PAR on Wednesday

The state weather bureau is tracking a storm that is expected to enter the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) on Wednesday.

The tropical storm, which will be locally named Gener when it enters PAR (international name Malakas), packed maximum sustained winds of 75 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 90 kph, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services said.

It was last seen 1,605 kilometers east of Luzon, with a speed of west northwest at 30 kph. RAM/rga
