BATANGAS CITY—A policeman and his companion were shot and killed by unidentified gunmen in Tuy town in Batangas province on Tuesday, police said.
Senior Supt. Leopoldo Cabanag, Batangas provincial police director, said PO3 Pedro Oronico, who was assigned in the Tuy municipal police station, and his companion, Arjohn Gonzalez, died while being taken to the Western Batangas Medical Center in Balayan town.
Cabanag said Oronico and Gonzalez, who were on a motorcycle, were attacked by three men on another motorcycle in the village of Putol in Tuy town at 6:50 a.m.
Police have yet to establish the identities of the gunmen or the motive for the attack./rga
