A POLICE escort detailed with the office of Vice President Leni Robredo has been removed from her security team after his partner was named in a drug watch-list in Quezon City.

Robredo’s spokesperson Georgina Hernandez issued a statement confirming that the police officer was returned to his mother unit pending an investigation of his live-in partner, who reportedly surrendered to the Quezon City police on suspicion of illegal drug activity.

“Based on the official report from the Quezon City Police District, the live-in partner of one of the security detail of the Office of the Vice President was in the list of Oplan Tokhang,” Hernandez said.

“While the target surrendered voluntarily to the authorities, reports from QCPD are saying that there were no illegal drugs nor paraphernalia found in their home,” she said.

Hernandez said Robredo was upset upon learning about the incident but would support any investigation by law enforcement authorities.
