Inmate escapes from Albay police station jail

LEGAZPI CITY – An inmate escaped from the detention facility of Camalig police station in Albay, police said Friday.

Senior Inspector Maria Luisa Calubaquib, information officer of Bicol police, said in a report that Nolen Moral, 37, of Barangay Inarado of Daraga town asked permission from Senior PO2 Cynthia Sallan, duty desk officer/jailer, to dispose urine he collected in a plastic container because the comfort room inside the detention cell was out of order at around 3:45 p.m. on Wednesday.

The police officer allowed the inmate and accompanied him to the toilet located at the back portion of the police station. Minutes later, the suspect escaped by jumping over the fence at the back of the station. The duty jailer discovered that said suspect was gone.

Moral was incarcerated due to series of robbery and was also charged of violation of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drug Act of 2002.

He remains at large while police operatives are still conducting a manhunt operation. JE
