A security personnel assigned at the Office of the Vice President has been ordered transferred to his mother unit at the Philippine National Police after his live-in partner was included in the drug watchlist in Quezon City.

PO3 Joey Regulacion has been removed from Vice President Leni Robredo’s security team after his live-in partner Cheryll Mapula surrendered to the Quezon City police on Wednesday for her alleged drug involvement.

“Based on the official report from the Quezon City Police District, the live-in partner of one of the security detail of the Office of the Vice President was in the list of Oplan Tokhang,” OVP spokesperson Georgina Hernandez said in a statement on Friday.

“While the target surrendered voluntarily to the authorities, reports from QCPD are saying that there were no illegal drugs nor paraphernalia found in their home,” she said.

Police conducted Oplan Tokhang and Oplan Galugad at the residence of Mapula, alias “Olive,” at Sitio Mabilog in Barangay (village) Culiat. Authorities however did not find any drug paraphernalia in her house.

“The security detail has been transferred to his mother unit pending further investigation by the PNP,” Hernandez said.

The spokesperson said Robredo is saddened to learn about the incident and supports all investigation efforts “so that reputations and lives are not damaged.” JE/rga
